Rottnest Island

Papers sorted out!

Well, I’m in Perth for one week now. After some days a few hard (my first night was on a sofa because I did a mistake) and to recover from jet lag, all is ok.

I’ve opened an account to the Westpac bank which has a partnership with BNP Paribas bank. I have my Optus Sim card (Telstra is better outdoor cities than Optus) and also I receive thursday my tax file number (very important for tax back).

I’ve given my résumé in some shops, bars and restaurants but that doesn’t run in this way. A french guy told me than to have a job, I must ask to work for free to show I’m really motivate and increase my experience (because I’ve never worked in a restaurant) . That looks like to the American dream. Your résumé is one thing but showing (and not write) your motivations runs better.

Aussies are really friendly. I could talk with Margaret and her friend in the plane from Singapore to Perth and Vicky in the ferry by going to Rottnest Island. Just a “Hi, how are you?” and the conversation starts. People in backpacker hostel are friendly too, but some backpackers steal few food in the fridge. I met many people, lot of french too.

Thanks to a french couple, I met a traveller agent than I can help with my project. His name is Sebastien and his business calls Azimuth Travel Australia. With our new partnership, I could discover quickly two islands for a cheap price: Rottnest Island and Penguins Island.
