Update Nov. 6th 2012<\/strong>: Here is the full Hiking of Holzarte Canyon, by walking the GR10<\/strong> (but unfortunatly, it is 6 meters wide for the half of the loop…)<\/span><\/p>\n

Saturday morning, 8:00 am, the alarm clock strikes. I wash, breakfeast and wear up. I take my car and I pick up a friend. After 1:30 hours and 100 kilometers from Bayonne<\/strong> we are to Larrau<\/strong>, a little village where people is smiling. We ask our direction to a farmer and this one was in a good mood and very happy to help us. Basque country is not as closed as than some people believes!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once arrived at the Logibar restaurant<\/strong><\/a>, we park the car behind it. Here you have the choice between two loops. A short on the left and a long on the right.<\/p>\n

We were come to do the long<\/strong>: 15.50 kilometers with 600 meters vertical gain for 5 hours.<\/p>\n

But after we had passed many people after only 15 minutes, the hikking has become annoying<\/em>. Moreover, a friend waited us to Pau less than 5 hours after beggining hikking. So, once time \u00e0 the Holzarte footbridge, we came back.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/strong>However, Holzarte<\/strong> is a beautiful Canyon very impressive and wooded<\/strong>. The Holzarte footbridge<\/strong> was built by two italians in 1920. But from the Xynthia storm<\/em>, it was renovated in 2010. It does 67 meters long<\/strong> and overthang the canyon from 100 meters!<\/strong><\/p>\n

For people who likes adrenalin, it is a great spot for rope jumping<\/a>!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first fall colors make the landscape wonderful.<\/p>\n

I encourage you to do the long trail.<\/p>\n
